You have come to the right place if you would like to improve any aspect of your English language abilities or want to help your child become a confident reader!
My name is Jennifer VanSteenhuyse and I am the Director of English Language Associates. I have been teaching for over 20 years. I have a Master's Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and taught intensive English courses at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) at the Tutorium in Intensive English. Additionally, I taught English as a Second Language courses at a community-based organization in Chicago and operated an English as a Second Language tutoring business in Chicago. During my time as an English as a Second Language teacher, I worked with many international students with diverse learning styles and learning needs.
I hold a second Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education and have taught preschool, second grade, and third grade students. During my 12 years as a public school teacher, I worked with non-native speakers, native English speakers, and many students with special needs. I have helped many children become fluent and confident readers and look forward to improving your child's reading abilities, too!
